Alfa Romeo Bimotore original factory drawing from the Alfa Romeo Drawing department.
This can be seen as the very first Ferrari since Enzo ferrari Managed the racing department.
The Ferrari horse is also shown on the side of the Bimotori F1 car.
The car was designed in the 30s as an answer to the AutoUnion and Mercedes F1 cars. Due to the high power and also vehicle weight the massive tire wear kept it from being really competative. It was soon replaced by a more light version.
The original pre-war factory drawings were mostly destroyed during WWII. After the war, the famous Luigi Fusi re-draw many on the iconic car designs when he became head-of-control of the drawing department from 1955 in Arese (IT).
In early 1986, Alfa Romeo became part of the FIAT group. Alfa Romeo’s lead plant in Arese became a standard manufacturing plant. FIAT did not have any interest in preserving the archives, which meant that many blueprints were destroyed and recycled. A small group of engineers tried to save some of the blueprints and took them home. Many were lost afterwards and only a handful is still available in private collections
Blueprint drawing shows great patina and has original stemps and markings. it became availbel now from a privat collection.
Great piece to add to a collection or to hang on the wall of your garage.
