Description
Original art by John Ketchell
Limited Edition Print: Swiss GP - Caracciola - 1938 Rainmaster
The Mercedes W154 was specially designed for the 1938 season. Designer Rudolf Ahlenhaut had modified the W125 to meet the new regulations. Driver Rudolf Caracciola won the European championship overwhelmingly. Victory at the rained-out GP of Switzerland was 1 of the highlights. During this race, the three 'Silberpfeile' immediately took the lead and did not relinquish it. It was therefore a full silver podium.
Artist John Ketchell is internationally renowned. He is an automotive artist who has already received many commissions from both individuals and well-known companies. When you look at Ketchell's work, you immediately see that speed intrigues him. His semi-abstract style gives us all a lot of freedom to interpret the piece. At a young age, John was captivated by racing, especially the GP Talbot-Lago was soon his facourite. After Art school in Preston, John soon became a pro artist.
The Limited Edition art print comes with numbered certificate and hand-signed by the artist.
