The Jaguar XJR-9 was designed and produced by Tom Walkingshaw Racing (TWR). The XJR-9 was powered by a 7.0 liter V12 engine and was in 1988 by far the fastest car on Le Mans. The victory seemed secure for a long time until the second car of the team retired with technical problems. Jan Lammers was at that time leading the race and later suffered from the same problem with the gearbox. By not changing gear, Lammers was able to get the car to the finish and secured the 1988 win.
Tom Havlasek appreciates the real racing heroes of the years 70 and 80, heroes with real stories and adventures. The Jaguar that is depicted on this canvas is sure to be one with a cool story, a real legend..
