Description
The Jaguar XJR-9 was designed and produced by Tom Walkingshaw Racing (TWR). Powered by a 7.0-litre V12 engine, the XJR-9 was by far the fastest car at Le Mans in 1988. Victory seemed certain for a long time until the team's 2nd car retired with technical problems. Jan Lammers was leading the race at the time and later suffered the same gearbox problem. By no longer changing gear, Lammers was able to get the car to the finish in 4th gear and secure the win.
Tom Halvasek most loves the racing heroes of the 1970s and 1980s. The Jaguar depicted on this canvas is certainly 1 with a real story, a true legend....
