Description
The Ferrari 312P was introduced in 1969 in response to the new Group-6 Sportscar regulations. Its performance was variable, but started well with a pole position and second place during its debut at Sebring with Mario Andretti. During Le Mans testing, it soon became clear the initial open design was inadequate to offer resistance to the Porsche 917s on the straights of the Mulsanne straight. Therefore, the coupe version was soon released which, in addition to gaining speed, also provided a dazzling design. Victories were achieved at Sebring and Daytona, but one had to acknowledge their meerdree to the Porsche 917 at leMans.
French artist Stephane Dufour has found a very quirky way to immortalise iconic models. It starts with the creation of the basic design, which is made entirely in clay. The small series made of each design is made from a coloured casting resin, which takes the right shape via a mould. After curing, the product is carefully sanded to achieve a completely smooth surface.
The designs are one of a kind and have a strong premium look, ideal for in study room or office. This Ferrari 312P Sculpture is 1 of his latest creations.
