The mid-70s were the successful years for Niki Lauda. In 1975 he won his first world championship with Ferrari and in 1976 he seemed on his way to a second one. His accident at the Nurburgring in 1976 shocked the autosport world and also himself. He missed several races but fought back to in the last races for the championship.
James Hunt had in the second half of the season just a very strong series and took all the risks. Certainly also the last GP on Fuji's circuit was decided because of this. The race was started under very bad conditions and after a few laps Niki Lauda in stopped the pits because it was too dangerous. The race continued and was won by James Hunt who became champion with 1 point difference.
Tom Havlasek has honored all the great champions with a portrait. In addition to those of Niki Lauda, limited editions of James Hunt, Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher are also available at Vintage Seedworks.
