The Porsche 935 was introduced in 1976 and was based on the Porsche 911 RSR . The car was developed for long distance races and was also delivered to customer teams from 1977. The 3.3 litre boxer engine produced up to 845 hp through the use of a twin turbo. Until 1982, the 935 was used extensively and won the in 1979 overall standings at Le Mans . The car also won the 1000km of the Nurburgring, Daytona and Sebring. When in 1982 the Group-C cars made their entrance it was all over for this brute.
Tom Halvasek really appreciates racing heroes of the 60's, 70's and 80's.. The 935 originates from this same era, the era of real legends..
