Description
'Every car can become a legend'
Old legends revived with the art of AfterTheRace. Designs and stripings of legendary cars and races are brought back to life in a completely unique and detailed way. The artworks deserve a prominent place in everyone's living room, study or office.
This artwork was created in honour of the 1988 Le Mans victory.
The Jaguar XJR9 was designed and made by Tom Walkingshaw Racing (TWR). Powered by a 7.0-litre V12 engine, the XRJ9 was by far the fastest car at Le Mans in 1988. Victory seemed certain for a long time until the team's 2nd car retired with technical problems. Jan Lammers was leading the race at the time and later suffered the same gearbox problem. By no longer changing gears, Lammers was able to get the car to the finish and secure the win.
