Description
Michael Schumacher is one of the greatest drivers of all time, and certainly of the past 20 years. His debut with Jordan at the 1991 Belgian GP impressed many team bosses even though it only took a few corners before the Jordan-Ford broke down with a faulty clutch.
During his time at Benneton, he grew from a race winner to a world champion. The switch to Ferrari in 1996 was a bold one and it was not until 2000 that he was able to win his first championship. The battle with Mika hakkinen that year was very spectacular. Hakkinen's overtaking action on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit is still on most autopsort fans' minds.
Apart from this overtaking, Schumacher was the better of the season with the Ferrari F1-2000. After 21 years, Ferrari could finally chalk up another world championship. Three more followed in the years 2001-2004, won in part by Michael Schumacher, Ross Brawn and Jean Todt with supremacy.
